6 Things About Fall

Fall is one of my favorite seasons.

In no particular order, here are the best things about fall.

  1. Pumpkin
Pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin smoothies, pumpkin soup. Almost anything pumpkin (except regular pumpkin pie) tastes yummy.
  2. Cooler Weather
This means I can go hiking, take the kids to the park, lay in the grass, and not drip a bucket of sweat just to walk to my car.
  3. Leaves Changing Color
The colors are so beautiful. One of my favorite memories is being in Chicago in October right as the leaves had changed. It was a joy to see all the different trees. Another fun thing about the leaves changing color is that when the fall to the ground you get to crunch them.
  4. Thanksgiving
The best holiday with delicious food and great company.
  5. Fall Decor
I’m not a big fan of the gory Halloween decorations, but I love the classy fall decorations. Scarecrows, pumpkins and apples, fall leaves.
  6. Canning fruit
This is the time of year my sister and I order boxes of fruit from Utah or Washington and can. We usually can peaches, pears, and applesauce. A bonus of canning is the fragrant smells that fill the house.
  7. Soup
I’m sure I can eat soup any time of the year, but cooking and eating in fall just seems right.
