    Does Mom Work?

6 years ago I threw a parent temper tantrum because of something one of my kids said. And even though we all learned from the experience, it wasn’t the last time I got hurt and angry because of what they said. But I’m pretty sure I never threw a tantrum like that again. Over the years, I’ve had to learn patience and give a little grace and choose not to be offended. I guess it’s part of being a mom. Actually, it’s really part of being a person. People say hurtful things. I like to believe that they just don’t know any better and are doing the best that they…

Sugar and Spice–10 Days of Inspiration (Guest Post)

My girls are wonderfully well-behaved. Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice… and all of that. Except when they’re not. Then I would have to say they are more akin to that of a WWE match, except they aren’t acting. My oldest (“old” being a relative term in this family, considering she is 4) and my middle child, 3, know how to throw down and throw tantrums like the best of them. Being a mom is hard work!   There are days when we lock ourselves in the bathroom just to have a few minutes of peace.   Or days when we can’t wait until dad comes home so we can pass the kid duties off to him.   Or days where it seems like the only thing we hear is kids fighting and complaining.   There are even days when we want to throw in the towel and sell the kids to the gypsies.   There are a lot of tough parts of motherhood.   So, what keeps us going? What motivates us to get out of bed and face another…

    Things I Did Right

Would it be bragging if I said that I’m a good mom? Because I think I am. But, I don’t consider it bragging. I’m just confident that I have done a good job. At least so far. I’m still in the middle of my parenting career. I guess I’ll always be a mom, so if I put things in perspective, I’m at the very beginning of being a mom. But, there some things that I do right.I’m not by any means perfect. There are a few things I could do better. For example. . .I don’t like to build legos or play dolls/barbies. I sometimes get frustrated with bad behavior…
