Be Inspired by the Greatest Artist–10 Days of Inspiration (Guest Post)

Be Inspired by the Greatest Artist

Right now, I’m sitting at a table in a quaint coffee shop writing this post, and I’m taking in my surroundings. Across from me, my wonderful husband works on his own laptop. Out the window, rain falls on red and golden leaves. Around me, people type and work and create and talk.

And just like that, I know what inspires me most. It’s not a friend or a family member, though I’m greatly inspired by so many people who are close to my heart. It’s not a good cup of coffee or, in my case, hot tea since I don’t like coffee. It’s not even the soft, lovely worship music that is playing in the background right now.

I’m inspired by the greatest artist of all.

I’m inspired by the Creator. By the One who crafted these beautiful, intentional, intimate surroundings. By the One who makes the leaves change color in the fall and the One who paints a picture with the raindrops.

I’m inspired by the One who created me and who created you and who created each person in this coffee shop. I’m inspired by the One who gave me the capacity to be inspired. By the One who gave each of us the ability to type and work and create and talk.

Sweet friend, I know life can get crazy busy, but won’t you stop for me, even for just a moment? Stop, and look around you. Stop, and see.

The Greatest Artist has crafted incredible masterpieces all around you. From the people He’s placed in your life to the view out your window, God has painted the story of your life. Isn’t that all the basis you need for grand inspiration?

I can’t say I don’t get writer’s block. I get it as much as the next writer. It happens to all of us. But when I do get writer’s block, my very first step is to get outside. To leave my own kitchen table, where I spend so much time writing, and take in the world around me. God’s artwork never fails to inspire me, encourage me, and uplift my soul.

So that’s my best recommendation for you as well, friend, if you’re in need of some good inspiration. Step out into the world. Soak it all in. And remember the One who created it all.

And never forget… you are onederfully created.

Love,

Becca
