5 Simple Ways to Get Inspired

Do you ever have days (or weeks) when you feel un-inspired?

I’ve been feeling that way all week. Usually I have ideas of what to write about for this blog or what to post on Instagram and Facebook. But for some reason I’m just not having the great a-ha moments I want and the plan I made just isn’t feeling right.

So what can you do when you’re lacking inspiration? Here are a few simple ways to get the creative juices flowing.

GET INSPIRED WITH MUSIC

There is something magical about a good song. I have a playlist of a few songs that pump me up, get me moving, and help me out of a funk. Here is my new favorite band. I love the cover songs they perform. What is your go-to inspirational song?

GET INSPIRED BY MOVING

For me this is usually going for a walk (without devices) and enjoying some time alone. It could also be dancing, yoga, hula hooping, or going to the playground with your kids. How do you move?

GET INSPIRED BY OTHERS

Reread a favorite blog post, scroll through motivating Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest accounts, or listen to a good podcast. I even get inspired by watching YouTube videos of other people creating. Who inspires you?

GET INSPIRED BY DOING YOUR FAVORITE THINGS

Make a list of things you love to do and do them. Doodling, playing a game with your kids, watching a funny video, eating chocolate, trying on a new outfit, or taking a nap. What is your favorite things to do?

INSPIRE YOURSELF

Unplug, meditate, write in your journal, or review old creations. Allow your muses to bring ideas. Ask empowering questions. Share your ideas with a trusted friend—sometimes saying it out loud is inspiring. How do you inspire yourself?
